training: round one

I really had to hold back from adding "FIGHT!" to the end of this blog post title (one is never too old for Street Fighter, amiright?)

Also, funny that my last blog post was about boredom, because I certainly haven't had the chance to taste that in close to a month. Hence my lack of blogging. Insert other blogging excuses I generally make. Like playing too much Pottermore. I digress.

This week we started our Pro-Staff Training in ResLife. We've been busy busy bees, but it has been wonderfully planned and I've enjoyed many of the activities - particularly prioritizing my "values," reflecting on past mentors, and Myers-Briggs testing (INTJ fo' lyfe!) But seriously. Sidenote: Just remembered the extroverts compared the introverts to cats and I have never been so offended in my life. The gall!

I always appreciate values activities because I find it a good way to refocus: what certain actions can you take this year that contribute to your overall values and what can/do you need to reevaluate to make sure you are staying true to yourself and your end goals.

Also, I just thought of this whole pie analogy I could make, but I'll spare you corny comparisons today. You're welcome.

We also made a map of our mentors. I am definitely thankful for a long list of people who pushed or inspired me - and still do 'til this day - to continue on the path that I am on. Shout out to teddybear and honeybee, because I would be absolutely nowhere without you and you're the best cheerleaders I could ever be blessed with!

I'm excited to see what other adventures will occur during training; tomorrow we're headed to the JD McCarty Center bright and early, and then CAMP CRIMSON on Thursday! Confident it will all be great. And did I mention I'm digging our staff this year? That's always a plus. AND a mere eleven days until Couch Staff is here! STOKED.
